Federal Relief has been granted to the following counties at this time: Benton, Carroll, Cheatham, Crockett, Davidson, Decatur, Dickson, Dyer, Fayette, Gibson, Hardeman, Haywood, Henderson, Hickman, Houston, Humphreys, Madison, Maury, McNairy, Montgomery, Obion, Perry, Roberstson, Rutherford, Shelby, Sumner, Tipton and Williamson counties.. Additional counties are expected to be added. You cannot file for assistance until your county has been added to the disaster counties list.
To make a claim listen to prompt – Making a claim takes approximately 18 minutes by phone prompts. Before you call you should have the following:
-Names and Date of Births for all household members -Name of current insurance carrier (if any) -SSN of adults in household -Gross income for household -Address of flood location -If you have relocated address of relocation -Phone numbers -We recommend you write down the inspectors ID number you speak to. -We recommend you take as many pictures as possible of the flooded area.
Once the claim is filed you should expect 10 days before an inspector will schedule a date to see the flooded area. Then you should expect another 10-14 days to process your claim.
This process for applying for disaster relief is for grants and temporary housing for families, if you are a business you will be prompted to make a filing through the Small Business Administration SBA .
